Today a friend popped in unannounced. To be honest, that is not something that still happens very often these days. Everybody is always so busy running around getting everything done they think is important, that we won’t dare to in the moment change the direction we are going in and quickly pop in to say hello to a friend.

She popped in with a bottle of ice-cold kombucha as a treat. We had a quick chat, and then she was on her way again. But the impact of her decision to act on what she felt she needed to do … lasted much much longer than that. Matter of fact it changed my whole mood.

At first, I was agitated because there was so much work that needed to be done before the boys come back from school. But I got up took a few deep breaths and directed my focus on her for a moment. And that was so powerful! After she left I felt so rejuvenated and was far more productive than before she arrived.

I just again realized the value of taking a break and the importance of investing in friendships. We all need friends. We all need to feel loved. We all want to believe that we matter, that our lives are important. And that is exactly what her visit today made me feel like. Friendship is an opportunity to love, to learn about yourself, to mature as a human being, and to open up to the full experience of life. The motivation and cheering on of a good friend might be all you need to eventually build up the courage to take back control of your home and declutter your house.

To seek true friendship, we must have the courage to risk all that we are … even popping in unannounced if you experience that that is what you need to do at that moment. I just loved it!
