Absolutely everything in life has its ups and downs. Well, at least everything worth it. You will have good days and you will have bad days. And you will have a lot of those in-between days.

I believe those are the more dangerous ones. The days when nothing really happens, when not much is expected of you, when you fall in a rut. On the good days, you at least celebrate, and on the bad days, you are looking for answers to make things better. But on the in-between days, we just cruise … slowly to nowhere.

Last month we were married for 12 years. And as with everything worth it we also had our fair share of ups and downs. I am always so grateful for my husband that refuses to settle for in-between days. We either celebrate a win or we turn a challenge into an opportunity. In the beginning, it was tough because I naturally tended towards slipping into those in-between days. Those days felt so much easier, but not much happens or changes when you get stuck there.

Decluttering your home is also a journey worth embarking on. So you can expect the same kind of ups and downs. Some days you will feel like you got this and some days you will feel like you have no control. But that is actually a good sign. It means you care about your home. You haven’t given up. The dream is still alive. And most of all … you haven’t slipped into those in-between days.

If you are decluttering your home it is so important to celebrate every single win. Does not matter how big or small. You need to celebrate even if you only managed to clean the kitchen counter. Just make yourself a cup of tea and feel good about yourself.

It will motivate you to keep on going when the not-so-good days come. Those days when it feels like you are making no progress. Those are the days we start asking ourselves questions. Is what I am doing working? Can I maybe do it differently? Do I need help? Should I start somewhere else? And we give ourselves some honest answers. Because we deserve it.

You deserve that decluttered home. But remember the joy is in the journey. Make the best of it. Hit the reply button with a 'like' if you agree.
